Our Approach

To best understand our new business model, let us describe the new processes for partnering between the dentist and DSI, as well as the processes that occur in a typical patient case.

Working with the dentist:

We do not directly market to patients or have our own offices where we see our own patients.  Instead we establish partnerships with dentists who wish to offer more services to their patients.  Based on their need for specialty services, we schedule our specialists and staff to visit the offices of our partners on specific dates and times to perform referred specialty work.

As a first step, we help establish marketing and patient education programs for the office of our partners.  Concurrently, we could assist our dentist partners in planning cases requiring specialty input and to communicate the need of the same to the patient.

Once we have established these programs, we set up communication systems between our dental partners and our specialists.  This allows dentists to share particularly difficult cases with the specialists, and get new insights into treatment plan options.  As the treatment plans are performed, the dentist and specialist both have shared access to all information regarding the case, including work performed, patient notes, and digital files.

To assist the dentist, we often follow up the insurance and billing process as well.  Again, both parties have shared access to all the transaction information at any time.

An Illustrative Case:

When a dentist comes across a patient needing specialty dentistry services, the dentist can quickly send a message to our system.  Using our HIPPA-compliant messaging system, the dentist can also send digital photos and x-rays, and any notes to the specialist or group of specialists.  Our technologies then support a web-based conferencing capability or discussion forum capability where the dentists can confer about the case, and reach a suggestive treatment plan.

If a referral is then made to our specialists, the patient is then contacted by either our staff and /or the dentist’s staff, and referred to our web-site where the patient can pre-register, review relevant patient education videos and information, and/or schedule an online or in-person consultation, if needed.  The patient can also fill out any required consent forms in advance, once discussions for the procedure have been done with the provider specialist.  If the patient has any concerns or questions, or wishes to discuss our assistance in financial arrangements they can contact our staff via online messaging, e-mail, or phone calls.

Once the patient has filled out the pre-registration information (including medical history), and the specialists has reviewed all notes from the referring dentist, the specialist can accept the patient and have the DSI staff contact them to schedule an appointment.

Prior to the appointment, the DSI systems will automatically remind the patient of the appointment through e-mails, text messages, or phone calls.

On the day of service, the patient comes to the office of the dentist, and our staff greets the patient, and reviews any final questions and consent requirements.  Then, the services are performed right in that office, utilizing the supplies, equipment, and staff of DSI.

Once the services are performed, the patient’s claims are submitted to insurance and/or the billing process is started by DSI or by the dentists’ office depending on mutual understanding and prearrangement between DSI and the dental office.  At all times, the dentist can view all the pertinent data about what transpired with his/her patient, including the treatments rendered,  diagnostic imaging, and insurance claims and billing processes.
